AQUARIUS was found on the highway – he has some minor injury to a few of his toes – needs a new home ASAP! He’s a darling, easy-going boy who would be a purrfect pal to just about anyone. Hello, my name is Aquarius. My animal id is #15664. I am a desexed male white cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 08-Dec-2017.

Aquarius is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection, which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, we have no concerns for Aquarius, who we believe would be suited to most homes.

[DVM Intake] DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 3yo Microchip noted on Intake? neg History : Stray Subjective: BARH, friendly, good for medical handling and PE Observed Behavior – Evidence of Cruelty seen – n Evidence of Trauma seen – n Objective T = P = wnl R = Eup BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: no oral lesions PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: MN MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat. LF digit 5 and RF digit 5 excessively short with minimal bleeding. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: n externally Assessment: LF digit 5 and RF digit 5 excessively short with minimal bleeding — r/o secondary to being found on highway vs other trauma otherwise apparently healthy Prognosis: excellent Plan: ctm at MACC until transfer/adoption
S/O -QAR, docile and affectionate -good appetite -sneezing, serous nasal discharge -small nasal abrasion -rodent ulcers bilaterally along upper lips -mm pk, sl tacky; no oral ulcerations noted -multifocal superficial ulceration along all paw pads, litter stuck in some places A 1. URI 2. Rodent ulcers 3. Paw pad/nasal ulceration P move to isolation doxycycline 1 ml PO SID x 10 days cerenia 0.5 ml SQ SID x 3 days simbadol 0.5 ml SW SID x 3 days

Upon intake Aquarius allowed all handling. He came in with a relaxed body and allowed being collared. He was receptive to head and body touches. He allowed counselor the lift and place him in a carrier.

KNOWN HISTORY:: Aquarius was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on their behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Aquarius allowed all handling. He came in with a relaxed body and was receptive to head and body petting.

Reaction to assessor:: Aquarius was lying down by the back and makes eye contact with the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Aquarius remains in place and continues to make eye contact, calm and relaxed.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Aquarius remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Aquarius sniffs the assessor’s hand, accepts petting and rolls over. He leans in for cheek and chin rubs, purring.
Reaction to being picked up:: Aquarius allows handling, but leaps back into his kennel when he wants to be placed back down.
