Medical Summary Sex: Male intact kitten Scan: Negative Fleas: No flea dirt. S: Alert, pulls himself around the table by his front legs. Has a GREAT appetite – devoured a bowl of food when offered. O: BAR-H, BCS 3.5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Clean teeth. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Both hind legs: weak, minimal conscious movement, decreased muscle mass, positive flexor withdrawals. Mild perineal erythema. UG: Male intact kitten. Large semifirm bladder palpable – I expressed it about halfway. Neuro: Good anal tone, perineal relfex present. Pt appears to have a mild whole-body tremor. Radiographs of pelvis: open growth plates. No skeletal injuries noted. A: 1. Hind limb weakness: neurologic lesion, likely T3-L3 (UMN to hind legs). 2. Possible mild whole-body tremor Short-term prognosis: Fair. The signs may improve with time, although it may take several months and .thee may not be a full recovery. P: Keep in medical, give supportive care. Consider placement if possible to find. 1088

This adorable little guy is a MUST SAVE, his back legs are currently paralyzed but if you think that’s going to stop him living life to the full then you don’t know Antigua! He seems very healthy otherwise and has a great appetite for his canned food, eagerly dragging himself over to the bowl at dinner time. Antigua is everything you’d expect from a curious little kitten and then some, a real trouper. Please contact the help desk for advice on applying to foster/adopt through a rescue, he is so worth it…
