SAFE 3/24/17 Went to visit her and she was resting, when she heard the door open she lifted her head and came to the front. Rubbed her head in my hand and was very observant. She really enjoys the rubs! Take the time to get to know her!

Behavior::
As per previous owner, Angel has lived with other cats, dogs and got along well with them. Her owner says she is litter box trained and she loves to play and cuddle.
Reaction to assessor: Angel was resting on her blanket at the back of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Angel lifts her head up, her ears rotate and lip licks when spoken to softly.
Reaction to cage door opening: Angel seems hesitant and remains motionless.
Reaction to touch: Angel leans forward to sniff the assessor’s hand and slowly relaxes when rubbed along her body. She slowly approaches the front with her tail lowered, constantly looks around wary of her surroundings and closes her eyes when pet.
Reaction to being picked up: Angel is tense and slowly backs away when the assessor attempts to pick her up.
Behavior Determination: Experience
Angel may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
Enrichment::

Trying to hide and be invisible behind box and at back of cage. There’s a sweet cat under that scared shell. Allows me to pet all over, doesn’t react much, but perks up when I put some treats near her. Brought here because she’s “old.” Heartbreaking. Rearranged items in her cage to try to make her more comfortable, left some more treats and sprayed Feliway.

Shy, sweet, scared. Appreciates petting but doesn’t have a lot of confidence yet. Gave her some treats and sprayed Feliway.

Seems to be gaining some confidence, more active today and coming to the front. bright and alert, appreciates petting.
