Gone - 8-10-2016 Brooklyn
**GONE 08/10/16** OWNER BECAME SICK AND POOR ANGEL LANDED IN THE KILL SHELTER!! How sad that when pet owners fall ill, that it seems nobody in the family or circle of friends wants to care for their pet? ANGEL is a 4 year old kitty who was a stray taken in by his owner. He followed him around and would play with toy balls. But now that he is sitting in the scary shelter – he is terrified and was punished with a New Hope only rating. ANGEL is very upset at losing his home and even though the ACC knows this, they will not do a thing to help this cat. ANGEL will die at noon Wedneday unless someone offers to foster or adopt him. IS THERE ONE PERSON OUT THERE TO GIVE ANGEL A CHANCE? PLEASE HURRY AND EMAIL THE HELP DESK AT [email protected] FOR RESCUE CONTACT INFO.

08/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Around stranger Angel is shy for a few minutes. He has no experience with children and does not play with adults. Angel has no experience with other cats or dogs. Angel is described as being independent with a high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Angel was at the back of the cage looking at the assessor with wide frighten eyes When spoken quietly: Angel continues to watch the assessor and starts to low growl Reaction to door cage opening: Angel becomes alert Reaction to touch: Angel growls, hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Angel was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Angel seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Angel is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
