ENRICHMENT NOTES:
3/30/18
Crouched position in the cage cubby, alert with dilated pupils, sniffs the hand and lip licks in place
4/1/18
Curled up behind litter box, eyes fully dilated. Turned and pressed face into corner when spoken to. Stayed like this when door opened, then turned to face me when offered treats. Allowed touch while eating, paused after a while to lean into pets, extended neck for throat scratches, then resumed eating. Would not come out of cubby for more treats.
4/2/18
Improvement! Curled up at back of cubby, face in corner. Turned around when door opened, eyes fully dilated. Came forward with minimal coaxing today, started eating offered treats. Sniffed hand, then head-butted, leaned and arched into pets, lifted rear for butt scratches, purred quietly. Briefly retreated and pressed into corner again when startled by loud noise, but recovered quickly, resumed soliciting attention. Went right back to corner again when done eating treats.
4/3/18
Curled up at back of cubby, face pressed into corner. Looked up at me over shoulder when spoken to, eyes dilated. Stood and came forward with minimal coaxing after door opened, started eating treats. Head-butted, leaned hard into pets, ate additional treats from my hand. Retreated to back when new person entered room, became very alert, eyes darting. Calmed and returned to front after person left. Ate a few bites of wet food with treats mixed in, then lay down again with face in corner.
4/4/18
Crouched position behind the litter box, eyes wide, looking around, wary with surroundings. After he sits upright in place, tail tightly curled close to the body while he accepts the touch, head rubs the hand and purrs.
