Manhattan Center

My name is ALPHA. My Animal ID # is A1095123. -P
I am a male black domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/29/2016 from NY 11377, owner surrender reason stated was HOARDING. I came in with Group/Litter #K16-079712.

11/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Alpha was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home environment. He lived with lots of other cats and appeared well during intake. He was tense and nervous during his initial medical exam, but allowed all handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Alpha was lying down by the back with his paws tucked under his body, calm. Reaction when softly spoken to: Alpha lowers his gaze and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Alpha becomes stiff and alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Alpha remains immobile, but his body is tense during petting. He flinches whenever there is sudden noise or movement. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Alpha tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
