ALICJA – A1083686
Gone - 8-5-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 08/05/16*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY ALICJA WAS TRAPPED IN A FOOD WAREHOUSE AND BROUGHT TO THE ACC – NOW THIS 12 WEEK OLD WILL DIE FOR NO REASON, REALLY!! Someone thought they were doing ALICJA a favor by bringing this kitten to the ACC. Kittens get adopted easily, they probably thought so they trapped this baby and dropped her off at the shelter. Sadly, ALICJA is not happy and is frightened because she is not used to people nor the noisy, scary sounds of the ACC. She allowed gentle petting but was timid and trying to get away. This sweet little baby is going to die at NOON if someone doesn’t open their heart and home to her tonight. A little food, TLC and patience will have ALICJA purring and giving you head-bonks in no time at all! GIVE ALICJA A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT BY EMAILING THE HELP DESK FOR RESCUE INFORMATION NOW!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Alicja was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was found in a warehouse and was trapped and brought to the care center. She was trying to flee upon intake and was fractious during her initial medical exam, hissing and striking. Reaction to assessor: Alicja was inside a hidey den when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Alicja becomes stiff and alert, and looks through a peep hole. Reaction to cage door opening: Alicja hisses, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Alicja hisses and shifts away to avoid contact. She focuses on the assessor’s hand and continues to hiss while squeezing into the corner of her den. She allows gentle petting with a slow approach and hisses, but does not display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Alicja tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
