ALGERIA – A1077265
Safe - 6-29-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
***SAFE 06/29/16*** PERFECTLY HEALTHY HANDSOME HOUSE PANTHER NEEDS YOU TONIGHT TO GIVE HER A FREEDOM RIDE!!! ALGERIA was brought into the shelter on June 13th along with 2 other siblings ANGOLA – A1077266 and ALBANIA – A1077264 who are NOT listed tonight. ALGERIA is perfectly healthy and allows handling and attention but is nervous and tense in the shelter. And for that reason alone, she received an EXPERIENCE rating and a trip to tonight’s euth list. What about that new program to help socialize cats that Jackson Galaxy started in the shelter? Well, we guess that as long as the cameras and publicity isn’t focused on the ACC, that they go back to their old ways of NOT helping cats get adopted. ALGERIA needs your help tonight to escape her doom Saturday. The ACC says they don’t kill healthy adoptable cats – well you be the judge. ALGERIA is HEALTHY AND ADOPTABLE!! PLEASE HURRY AND CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO SAVE ALGERIA BUT DON’T FORGET HER TWO SIBLINGS IN THE SHELTER TOO!!

06/16/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Algeria and at the time she was immobile when pet. Algeria’s eyes widen and focused on all movements. She allowed petting along body but was tense. Her tail was curled up at her side but she tilts head for rubs and closes eyes. Reaction to assessor: Alegeria does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Alegeria does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Alegeria remains motionless Reaction to touch: Alegeria seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Alegeria is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Alergia was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
