GONE 1/25/18 — 5 year old ALBANY has an ulcerated mammary gland tumor and needs immediate rescue as shelter is recommending euth due to poor prognosis. She was brought to the shelter when her owner died.

History :owner passed away; large mammary gland tumor

Subjective:QAR

Observed Behavior -timid but docile and allows handling; hissed once during exam but it was likely due to a barking dog in nearby cage

Evidence of Cruelty seen -n

Evidence of Trauma seen -n

Objective
BCS 4.5/9

EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam:mm pk, tacky; CRT <2 sec; moderate tartar and staining
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: tense but nonpainful, no palpable abnormalities
U/G: female intact; large ulcerated mammary gland tumor associated with middle gland on R chain
MSI:
-reluctant to walk due to timid behavior but appears ambulatory with no obvious lameness
-coat appears slightly dull, unthrifty
-dried serosanguinous discharge on RF paw, suspect due to sitting with paw underneath MGT
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:grossly normal

Assessment
1. Ulcerated mammary gland tumor

Prognosis:poor

Plan:
-simbadol 0.3 ml SQ SID x 3 days
-onsior 0.24 ml SQ SID x 3 days
-convenia 0.3 ml SQ
–recommend euthanasia at the end of hold due to poor prognosis associated with feline mammary gland tumors
