SAFE 5/23/18 The owner of ADDY & AUGGIE is sick and can’t care for this loving pair any longer. She had them both since they were 8 weeks old. Can you help this senior pair? Addy is a black spayed cat the was brought to the shelter as a stray due to the fact her owner is sick and can no longer care for her. The owner found Addy on the street when she was 8 weeks old.

Addy is a black spayed cat the was brought to the shelter as a stray due to the fact her owner is sick and can no longer care for her. The owner found Addy on the street when she was 8 weeks old.

How is this cat around strangers?
When meeting strangers for the first time Addy is shy for a few minutes but she will warm up. When playing with adults she is gentle.
How is this cat around children?
Addy has spent time around children when they visit the home and she is respectful. Addy does not care to play with children.

Addy has spent time in the home around a male cat. When around him she is relaxed and affectionate. when playing with other cats she is gentle.
How is this cat around dogs?
Addy has spent time in the home with a dog that occasionally visits. when around the dog she is respectful.
Behavior Notes
Finder stated that overall Addy behaves well. on the way to the ACC in the car she was quiet. She has never been bathed nor had her nails trimmed so it is unknown hoe she will react. She will tolerate being held and put in a carrier. Addy isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while she sleeps.

For a New Family to Know
Finder described Addy as friendly mellow and independent. When at home she will follow her owner around. She likes to play with cat nip and stuffed mice. She has been kept indoors only and eats both wet and dry food. Addy is used to an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Addy scratches on a post made out of card board.
Behavior Notes:
During intake Addy was hissing she did not allow the counselor to collar her nor take her picture.

EENT: Eyes have thick mucoid dc ou, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: moderate dental disease, no oral lesions noted
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: FS (spay scar noted on shaving ventrum), no MGTs, no vulvar d/c
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Start gentamicin OU BID x7d until 5/9, recheck
Attempted STT but tried to bite, unable to do fluorescein either, rec trying again once settled in shelter
+/- extra dose of gabapentin
Prognosis: Good-may need longterm care for eyes
