10/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Addison was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Addison was at the front of the kennel looking out at her surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Addison leans forward then gently head butts the kennel door for attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Addison takes a step back then meows softly. Reaction to touch: Addison brushes up for attention with her tail up and appreciates attention. She allows petting on her head and slowly leans in when rubbed on her cheeks. When touched along her body she gets uncomfortable and will quickly whip around and hiss. Reaction to being picked up: Addison backs away and avoids being picked up. Behavior Determination: Experience No Children Addison tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
