*** GONE 09/10/16 *** A IS FOR ABANDONED…..This sad quintet came from a group of twelve found outside wet and dirty with conjuctivitis and uri’s …..they are 4-6 month old kittens and could certainly use a warm, loving environment and some good home cooked meals…..As one would expect, they are a bit tentative but will warm up when given time and patience….EVEN IF YOU CAN HELP JUST ONE, NOW’S THE TIME!! The ACC will have no problem dispatching them tomorrow without a foster or adopter…..If you need assistance, email us at [email protected]

09/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Addison was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder was able to catch her and reports she has been living in the neighborhood with many other cats. She was tense around people and appeared ill. She was nervous during her initial medical exam, but allowed handling to be conducted. Reaction to assessor: Addison was by the back, hiding behind her litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Addison looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Addison remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Addison lowers her body and flinches when touched along her body. She lip licks and appears very uncomfortable, but does not display any further reaction. Reaction to being picked up: Addison is a bit tense, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Addison tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children. 9/9 update: Addison does not appear to be thriving in the busy adoptions room. When approached today her pupils were dilated and she was hissing, ears flat. She shrinks away from contact. It is in her best interest to move out of the shelter and into a stable home environment quickly.
