12/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Acer was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He displayed fractious behaviors during intake and did not allow the medical team to handle him during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Acer had a low body posture and his ears tilt when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Acer’s eyes dart from the assessor to his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Acer becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Acer remains completely still and immobile when touched. He allows slow and gentle strokes on his head and body, but has a very tense body. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Acer tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
