11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Abigail was brought to the shelter as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in a previous home. Reaction to assessor: Abigail was at the front of the cage, alert, busy kneading and “digging,” primarily focused on the room, particularly the food station, not the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Abigail remained at the front of the cage, lied down with soft body posture, purred. Focus remained primarily on her surroundings, not the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Abigail was again up and busy, focused on the surroundings, stayed right at the front, purred. Reaction to touch: Abigail allowed petting all over, continued to purr, but was primarily focused on surroundings, not the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Abigail was calm, allowed herself to be held like a baby, purred, but focused more on the assessor than her surroundings. Behavior Determination: Average Abigail appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
