***SAFE 10/12/16*** DREAMSICLE CREAMSICLE KITTEN NEEDS YOU-BE ZUZU’S HERO! Meet seven month old sweetheart, Zuzu who was “gifted” to his former family with whom he lived with for a few months and then dumped at the shelter due to “allergies.” Zuzu is a kind, playful and friendly fab fella who lived with kids but may get overstimulated by their attention. He is extremely sociable and easy to handle but may swipe when brought into unfamiliar situations. So it is recommended he go to an experienced pet home with folks who easily recognize when cats are becoming agitated. Please keep in mind that Zuzu is still a kitten and did not have a kitty companion in his former home so he probably just needs a playmate with whom to interact. Zuzu is a very adoptable little boy who desperately needs his rescue angel tonight. Please be his hero by offering to foster or adopt. Email our help desk and we will lead you through the process–[email protected] Transportation is available. Make the call for this dreamsicle creamsicle kitten NOW!!!

09/23/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/23/16 18:01 BASICS: Zuzu is a six month old orange tabby with a white chest and face. Her owner had recieved her as a gift and she had been in her owner’s care for approximately three months. She was surrendered because she had shared her home with four people with allergies. SOCIALIZATION: Upon meeting new people Zuzu will keep his distance. If he is given time he will likely approach. He had shared a home with children ages five, six and eight. He was playful with the children but would sometimes become overly stimulated by all the commotion and would playfully scratch with his paws. He had not been around other cats or dogs so his behavior around them remains unknown. Zuzu had been kept indoors and inside the bathroom most of the time. BEHAVIOR: He uses her litterbox with no accidents outside the box. when he had been given a bath he had ran and hid in fear. However he seems to enjoy an occasional coat brushing and isnt bothered when he is picked up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: His owner described him as a playful cat. Some of his favorite things to do are playing with plastic bags lying around the house and knocking things around. In his previous home he had a scratching pad which he used and was not known to scratch furniture. With regards to diet he had been given a mix of wet and dry food. primarly Friskies brand. Behavior During Intake: Zuzu seemed to really want to interact with the counselor. He was looking through the carrier and meowing and came out of the carrier immediately. He allowed the counselor to hold, photograph and collar him without much moving around. He was given food and placed back into the carrier with ease.

10/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
**UPDATE 10/02/16** Zuzu continues to display friendly and social behaviors in his kennel, but he also has been reported to hiss and swipe when brought into the interaction room and may not allow petting or contact when placed in an unfamiliar area. His previous owner has reported he would get overstimulated when there is a lot of commotion. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Zuzu becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. He may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents and any future home with children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting. Date: 09/27/16 Zuzu’s previous owner reports he will keep his distance when meeting new people, but will likely approach them when given some time. He had shared a home with children and was playful with them, but would get overstimulated when there was a lot of commotion, sometimes scratching playfully with his paws. He was best described as a playful cat, and some of his favorite things to do are playing with plastic bags and knocking things around.
