***SAFE 04/06/2016***ZORA NEEDS MEDICAL HELP STAT!! Lovely ZORA is a two year old who came into the ACC lactating but with no kittens…even worse she can only stay in a lateral postion and can only stand with assistance. According to the ACC, she has feeling in her limbs but cannot move them normally. She may have a cervical dislocation…… ZORA is dealing with it all as best she can….today she was moving her head better and her appetite increased. She also has a wonderful BEGINNER rating…. PLEASE HELP ZORA TONIGHT!! She is going to need a heap of HELP and a heap of PLEDGES…..If you are able to FOSTER ZORA, please contact a NEW HOPE rescue now. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/02/2016 from NY 11234, owner surrender reason stated was PET HEALTH.

04/05/16 11:00 S/O: Cat is Q/BARH App+++ Still lays in lateral recumbency in cage, but can move head around more Able to stand with assistance, knuckles on all feet except for LF which she holds up Bladder large and soft, expressed easily and cat appears to have some control as finished on her own (can wink both vulva and anus) Placed sternally in cage and able to stays in that position with severe head tilt to right A: Possible cervical dislocation and/or fx causing tetraparesis (patient has feeling in her limbs, but cannot move them normally) P: Inform NH of improvement and try to seek placement PROGNOSIS: Poor-Fair 04/04/16 S/O: Cat is Q/BARH Great appetite this am Seems to have some improvement in neurologic status as was able to lift head and move a little to get to tuna juice Sedated with 0.15cc Telazol IM to re-radiograph Took right lateral and VD radiographs of cervical and thoracic spine – concerned for possible luxation of C1-C3 Expressed bladder A: Suspect fx and/or luxation of atlanto-occipital joint P: Update NH PROGNOSIS: Poor

Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Zora and at the time she was weak and didn’t move much. Zora allows petting all over and appreciates rubs. Reaction to assessor: Zora meowed and looked at the assessor calmly When spoken quietly: Zora continues to watch the assessor calmly Reaction to door cage opening: Zora remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Zora allows petting and attention while purring Try picking cat up: Zora remains calm and allows all handling while continuing to purr Behavior Determination: Beginner At the time of the assessment Zora was displaying friendly behavior. Zora solicits attention by meowing and tolerates all petting. Zora remains calm while being held. Zora is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.

scan neg ~2yo, female intact, enlarged mammary glands, lactating qar. moderate dehydration. allows all handling. eating well. bcs 4/9 teeth clean, eyes clear, mild conjunctivitis ou, mild crusted nasal discharge, ears wnl normal thoracic auscultation; large soft bladder, stool in colon integ wnl; non-ambulatory, deep pain in all limbs, unable to stand radiographs: lateral and vd abdominal (concern over retained fetus) — decreased serosal detail, pelvis, spine and long bones wnl, no retained fetuses appreciated a: recent queening, dehydrated, paraparesis – R/O trauma/neuropathy vs toxin vs infectious vs other p: administered LRS 100ml sq, loxicam 0.15ml sq and buprenex 0.2ml sq. applied erythromycin ou rec buprenex 0.2ml sq q12 x 2 days. recheck tomorrow for improvement. poor prognosis
