EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Zoey remains tense, crouched position at the back of the cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Zoey began to lip lick in place, stiff body, alert with eyes wide open, ears erect and forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Zoey seems cautious, sitting upright with eyes wandering her surroundings. Reaction to touch: Zoey accepts the stroke while growling in place with no further interest with the interaction. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Zoey may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to her new home and family at her own pace. Zoey is released for rescue placement after her DOH quarantine hold, so will need to be placed with a New Hope partner.
