Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ziggy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Ziggy was crouched over at the front of the kennel looking out at her surroundings. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ziggy’s ears twitch and her eyes widen with her tail at her side. Reaction to cage door opening: Ziggy remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Ziggy has a tense body and flinches when first touched. She tolerates petting and lip licks then slowly turns her head away. She becomes uncomfortable then hisses and shifts away trying avoid all contact. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Ziggy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
