***SAFE 03/23/16 *** ZENITH IS DESPERATELY IN NEED OF SAVING TONIGHT….Because he is FELV+, he cannot be returned to a colony until he is at least retested so he would need a FOSTER to keep him until that could be done….To add to his problems, ZENITH has a URI and needs medication put in his food so that he will take it…..WHO CAN BE ZENITH’S HERO TONIGHT?? No, he’s not a lap cat but he is a scared little life that deserves consideration……ZENITH is two years old and he is already NEUTERED…IF YOU HAVE BEEN THINKING OF FOSTERING AND HAVE A SPARE SPACE, TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT….ZENITH is NEW HOPE rated so he must be pulled by a NEW HOPE rescue. If you need assistance finding a NEW HOPE rescue, please email [email protected]….

03/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zenith was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder reports he appears to be feral and will flee if given the chance. He was difficult to handle during his initial medical exam, and displayed distance increasing behavior. Please note that Zenith is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Zenith was inside a hidey den and looks at the assessor through a peep hole. Reaction when softly spoken to: Zenith remains stiff and alert. Reaction to cage door opening: Zenith remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Zenith hisses and starts to grumble. He shifts away from contact and does not allow touch. He focuses on the assessor’s hand and continues to growl. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Zenith is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
