*** SAFE 05/03/16*** BONDED SIBLINGS ZEBY AND COBY ARE ONLY 6 MONTH OLD KITTENS – BUT THE ACC WILL KILL THEM BOTH AT NOON TOMORROW FOR HAVING A COMMON COLD!! ZEBY and COBY are both 6 months old. Their owner dumped both of them when she had to move and sadly took a non-pet friendly apartment. Both these kittens are friendly, gentle and also lived with one other cat who apparently was not brought to the shelter. ZEBY and COBY were said to like to follow their owner around and sit on his or her lap. They were playful, chased balls, and very active. Their intake notes state that ZEBY and COBY are AMAZING YOUNG CATS AND DESERVE A GREAT HOME!! WOW – and yet the ACC will kill 2 AMAZING kittens for a cold!! Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zeby’s previous owner reports he is friendly to strangers. He has never been around children, but is playful and gentle when playing. He gets along very well with his sibling, Coby. He also lived with another cat, but the third cat liked to be left alone. He doesn’t mind being picked up or held for short periods. He was described as friendly, very affectionate, and playful. He is very active and will follow the owner around at home and sit on their lap. Reaction to assessor: Zeby was calm and relaxed, lying down upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Zeby looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Zeby becomes alert, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Zeby remains in place for petting and begins to purr, but he watches the assessor’s hand from time to time and pats it gently with his paw when touched on his back. Reaction to being picked up: Zeby becomes antsy and struggles to jump back into his cage. Behavior Determination: Experience Zeby tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may need time to warm up to his new home.
