09/02/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Independent KNOWN HISTORY: Yoda was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/30/17- Observed Behavior – a little shy, but easily examined and treated with minimal restraint. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 8/31/17 Crouched behind litter box, eyes dilated. Completely immobile when touched, held strong eye contact. Seems really scared. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Yoda seems tense, crouched position hiding in the litter box during the approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Yoda remains in place alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to cage door opening: Yoda stiffens up with head down while eyes dilate in place. Reaction to touch: Yoda accepts the touch while distance increases with ears flat to the side and no further interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Yoda tolerates attention and petting, but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to her new home and family at her own pace.
