GONE 10/28/17 *Possible HBC* Meet YODA: Placement he needs @ MACC **NEEDS VET PLACEMENT ASAP** Yoda is an older guy who was reportedly hit by a car. He does appear to be blind (which may resolve over the next few days- or can be permanent) and has some injuries to his mouth. This handsome boy really needs placement at a vets office ASAP!

History : Reported to have been hit by car yesterday or in the past several days (conflicting reports)
Subjective: QAR
Observed Behavior – Allows full exam. When placed on the floor, will look around but reluctant to move. However, does have the ability to ambulate x 4
Evidence of Cruelty seen – none
Evidence of Trauma seen – blood staining over face

BCS 4/9
EENT: Fixed, dilated pupils. Absent PLRs, direct and consensual. Absent menace. ears clean. Significant dried discharge noted over chin and nares. When cleaned, slight purulent discharge L nares with intact airflow. Multiple ulcerations with slight purulent discharge noted over tongue. no overt dental fractures. No apparent pain on manipulation of mouth/jaw.
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Male intact, 2 descended testicles
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted
CNS: Blindness, otherwise appropriate mentation, no signs of ataxia. Intact CPs
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment
Reported hit by car. Multiple
Apparently blind with fixed dilated pupils – r/o secondary to trauma
Prognosis:
Guarded to grave. At this time, it is uncertain if vision will return. However, as inflammation subsides it is possible. If patient eats well once on analgesics, consider 24-48 hours of hospitalization. If no improvement, humane euthanasia may be recommended.
