**SAFE 05/02/16** EAR TIPPED and NEW HOPE RATED! Poor Yancy is guesstimated to be about 3 years of age, she is already spayed, and someone brought her to the ACC as a stray. Now, “stray” cats are not wandering hobos, riding the rails in search of new adventures, and pies they can snatch off of windowsills. “Stray” cats usually have their own turf, their own self-defined neighborhood, and the fact that she’s spayed & ear-tipped reinforces this notion. Yancy is not enjoying her time at the ACC and would rather be back in her own routine, but the ACC has other plans for her. This grey lady needs a New Hope rescue to pull her to safety and treat her ear condition, and those arrangements need to be made tonight! Please share her story, please pledge toward her care, and please contact the Urgent PODR Help Desk if you can work with a NEW HOPE RESCUE to save her life, tonight!

04/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Yancy and at the time she was hiding in the back of the cage. Yancy had her body pressed against the back wall. She very was tense when touched. Yancy turns around makes eye contact and lip licks. Reaction to assessor: Yancy does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Yancy does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Yancy flitches and becomes tense Reaction to touch: Yancy lays flat and allows limited handling before attempting to strike Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick the cat up due to fractious behavior Behavior Determination: NewHope Yancy seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate much petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
