06/11/16 14:21 Basic Xena is a sprayed DMH cat who is 1yr and a few months. Her owner has had her for a year now and is surrender her because she does not have the time to take care of her anymore. She was given to the owner as a gift from a friend who had kittens. She has had no previous health issues and injuries but has been to the vet in 2015 for his rabies vaccination. Socialization Around strangers the owner states that she is friendly and playful but can be shy at fist. Xena has never been around children before or with other cats. She plays gentle sometimes and somewhat rough other times. Owner said that she would play nibble with people. She has been around a chihuahu and would be curious but respectful of the dog. The owner states that she has never bitten anyone or other animals. He also said that she has never hissed with him since she had him. Behavior The owner states that she did not have any behavior issues and that she is pretty quiet majority of the time. When Xena would ride on the train or in the car she would be sleeping or relaxed.Xena had accident when she was younger but uses the litter box now. Xena uses a uncovered litter box that was kept underneath the kitchen sink and it had pellets for litter. The owner used to give Xena baths but states that she normal cleans herself now. Xena would struggle with getting her nails trimmed. She is not bother when being picked up, disturbed while sleeping, or being put in a carrier. For the new family to know Xena was described to be friendly, affectionate, playful, confident and quiet. Owner states that she would lick, rub and purring when she would show afection. Xena was said to have a medium activity level and good with people. She loved playing with sting toys with her owner and would stare at he owner when they would cook. Xena would sleep on the couch or anywhere that was soft. Xena ate science diet dry food and would get wet food as a treat sometime. She has never gotten any human food. She had a scratching post that she would scratch on that was made out of rough rope and carpet. Intake During intake she retreated to the back of the crate but allowed petting. When I brought out wet food she came out of the crate and had a soft body while we scanned (-), collared, and took her picture.

Xena’s former owner stated around strangers she is friendly and playful but can be shy at fist. Xena has never been around children before or with other cats. She plays gentle sometimes and somewhat rough other times. Also said that she would play nibble with people. She has been around a chihuahu and would be curious but respectful of the dog. Reaction to assessor: Xena looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Xena remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, extending her arm outside the cage for attention. Reaction to touch: Xena head-butts the assessor’s hand, paws with claws and randomly hisses while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Xena tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
