EENT: Ears – black sticky debris inner pinna AU otherwise clear, mucopurulent ocular and nasal discharge
Oral Exam: Healthy deciduous dentition
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: wnl; both testicles descended
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, dead flea seen after Dawn bath, no masses noted, coat is extremely dirty and has strange odor, there is alopecia both hind paws and superficial hock sores
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Underweight, URI – Suspect dirty coat may be from kitten hiding out in car engine
Plan: Gave Dawn bath. Dried with towel and hair dryer on low heat. Used clippers to trim sticky mats off tail. Cleaned AU. Applied Terramycin OU – continue BID x 10d. Start Doxycycline 50mg/ml – 0.25mls PO q24h x 10d; gave first dose.
Prognosis: Good
SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to underweight and URI
