**SAFE 07/24/16** NEW HOPE should not mean “NO HOPE,” because every cat deserves a chance to know what life is like as a cherished pet! WOLVERINA and STORM are two cats whose chance needs to manifest RIGHT NOW, because both girls are slated to be killed tomorrow. STORM is about 10 months old, according to the ACC, and WOLVERINA is thought to be about 2…but WOLVERINA is also PREGNANT, meaning that all those unborn babies will die within her tomorrow if the ACC gets it’s way. These girls need someone to work with NEW HOPE RESCUE groups as foster/adopters, so if that sounds like you, please message the Urgent PODR Help Desk for assistance. Otherwise, please advocate widely for WOLVERINA and STORM tonight!

07/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Wolverina does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Wolverina’s eye widen and she watches the assessor nervously Reaction to door cage opening: Wolverina retreats and starts to low growl Reaction to touch: Wolverina hisses and swats when attempted to touch Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Wolerina was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room . Wolverina may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
