WINIFRED – A1087795
Gone - 9-10-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 09/10/16***THE ACC ASSESSOR SAYS: ‘Winifred head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body.’ Two year old Winifred was found in the BRONX, wandering around and put into a carrier by someone well meaning who brought her to ACC. However instead of going up for adoption, little WINIFRED went onto the at risk list when she got the sneezies! Now tonight this sweet girl, who did give a few playful nips with the Assessor after being petted (this could be play behavior or overstimulation in a strange place) is facing death tomorrow unless someone offers to foster or adopt her. She was found in the Bronx, and the Bronx is a wasteland for cats, often cats are dumped there and most don’t make it out of ACC alive. Tonight , won’t you give this little 2 year old girl a chance? Winifred says “take a chance on me, our best years are yet to be!”

09/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Winifred looks neutral, sitting upright by the front when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Winifred stands at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Winifred head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes she becomes agitated with the touch then quickly nips and ponces on the hand while she continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Winifred solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to nip and pounce at the assessor hand. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Winifred becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
