MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
06/20/18
Head down, quiet. allows full exam
ENRICHMENT NOTES:
06/21/18
Lying down with a low body posture, hiding behind litter box with ears tilted to the side. Lowers head when hand extends, allows gentle petting, but blinks and slowly turns to look at hand. Doesn’t seem to mind attention, but is very tense and appears nervous. No interest in treats.Â
06/22/18
Pressed up against the back wall of the kennel. He lip licks when approached, then turns his head away. His body twitches and he shifts his body weight when touched. Slowly warms up over time. He raises his rear when rubbed near his tail, and gives gentle head butts. I was able to coax him forward with party mix treats. Did a little clicker training- rewarded when he accepted attention.
06/25/18
Curled up in litter box, low gaze. Sniffs hand and was hesitant, but warms up with attention and leans in for cheek rubs, shifting body into a more comfortable position and lifting rear. Really sweet, but curls up again when interaction ends and keeps a low body posture.
06/28/18
Shy and tends to stay near the back of the kennel. Low body posture, turns head to make eye contact. Sniffs hand and accepts gentle petting. Very sweet! Comes forward when coaxed with treat. Gentle nudges hand and brushes up for attention. His tail rises up, and he rolls over on his side. Timid, just needs you to make the first move. Moving to adoptions today!
06/30/18
Low body posture, hiding in the back. Doesn’t present well in the kennel. Perks up when rubbed on cheeks. Very food motivated, easily able to coax to the front. Leans in and gives gentle head butts. Shrinks body with loud noises/ when people walk by.
07/01/18
Curled up under kuranda bed, tail wrapped around body. Meows softly when hand extends and lowers head, allows gentle petting on head and leans in for cheek rubs, but stress meows when pet along body. Seems more comfortable with head rubs, but will approach the front to eat treats. Shy cat, but is sweet.
07/02/18
Lying beneath kuranda bed, body relaxed and ears forward. Stretches out towards me when spoken to. He remains calm as I reach towards him and allows petting along his head and body while leaning in gently and rolling over slightly. Stands up and steps forward for treats, raises his tail as my hand passes along his back. Sweet boy – did well today!
07/03/18
Resting under kuranda bed, meows softly when coaxed. Chirps when hand extends and chirps again when pet, leaning in for cheek rubs and rolls over. Flips head back when pet along body, but lifts rear and arches. May prefer head rubs more and will nudge the assessor with head for head rubs instead. Really sweet, just need to go slow. Has shown consistent behavior throughout stay.
Cage Condition:
Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:
Wing Wing was lying down in the back of the kennel with his tail wrapped around his body.

His body relaxes a bit and he appreciates attention, but he still seems a bit wary of his surroundings and isn’t confident enough to come forward.
