ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Independent KNOWN HISTORY: Willow was brought in with limited information on their behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 9/5/17- Observed Behavior – nervous but allows full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 9/6/17 Curled up in litter box, eyes dilated. Became alert when door opened. Tolerated body pets, hunched lower and leaned away to avoid head pets. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Willow remains tense, crouched position hiding in her cage cubby during the approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Willow remains in place with eyes wide open. Reaction to cage door opening: Ears remain erect and forward, stiff body facing the assessor. Reaction to touch: Willow leans away from the assessor’s hand then squints when touched. However, after a few strokes her body relaxes and lays back into his original pose with no further interest. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Willow tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
