10/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Willa came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Willa tried to flee and was very afraid of human contact. Reaction to assessor: Willa is hiding in the den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Willa becomes very alert, wide eyes and stiff. Reaction to cage door opening: Willa retreats. Reaction to touch: Willa hisses and moves away to avoid touch. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Willa is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Willa is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
