She needs an EXPERIENCED owner with no kids, because she’s not doing well in the shelter. BUT, she does tolerate petting and attention which shows that in time, this girl can warm right up to YOU!!! That is…if you’ll have her! WILL YOU??

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Westbury was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She attempted to flee during intake, and allowed the counselor to conduct limited handling using bedding. She also attempted to flee multiple times during her initial medical exam and wouldn’t stay still. Reaction to assessor: Westbury becomes stiff and alert upon approach and had a low body posture. Reaction when softly spoken to: Westbury focuses on the assessor with her ears tilted sideways. Reaction to cage door opening: Westbury remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Westbury lowers her head and focuses on the assessor’s hand. She remains immobile when touched on her head and body, but appears very uncomfortable and looks like she may flee if given the opportunity. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Westbury tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
