**SAFE 06/07/16**WONDERFUL SECOND CHANCE!! MAKE IT COUNT! WARIO is a very handsome silky black cat with a little streak of white on his neck. He was brought into the shelter in a trap and is understandably very scared. WARIO is around 1 year old with big green eyes—a cutie! WARIO looks to be in good health and is clean. He just needs some time to trust humans again and receive some much- needed TLC! If you’d like to be WARIO’s kitty angel and save him from death by lethal injection tomorrow, please contact New Hope Rescue to foster or adopt this handsome guy. He will be furr-ever grateful!!!

05/29/16 17:37 Animal’s appearance – Cat appeared clean and or healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Cat was not handled during intake. Cat was transferred directly from trap to den but the cat did not display any aggression. Finder stated that there are a lot of strays in his neighborhood so he set up a trap and this is the cat he caught.

Wario came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Wario was very nervous, did not allow handling and attempted to flee. Reaction when softly spoken to: Wario is hiding in a den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Wario continues to hide. Reaction to cage door opening: Wario retreats. Reaction to touch: Wario moves away to avoid being touched and is immobile. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Wario is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Wario is extremely fearful in the shelter environment. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
