**SAFE 07/29/16** VIOLET is a charming and friendly (not to mention gorgeous!) female brown tabby. She was given as a gift as a kitten to her previous owner, along with her sister BLUE. Their owner dropped both these beauties at the shelter because she couldn’t keep them in her home anymore. VIOLET is 1 year old and as friendly and sweet as can be. In her picture, her eyes are pleading for someone to scoop her up and love her forever! Violet is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive & talkative (at times) with a medium activity level. She loved playing with her sister. Poor VIOLET is stressed out at the shelter, and would be wonderful in an experienced pet home. VIOLET has proven she’s an awesome pet cat. She just needs the chance to do it again, before she’s killed at the shelter. Please SAVE VIOLET TODAY!!!

07/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
**UPDATE 07/25/16** Violet appears to be overwhelmed in the busy adoption room, hissing and retreating to the back when approached for interaction. Her previous owner reports friendly and sociable behaviors in a home environment, but she appears to become tense at the prospect of interaction in the shelter environment. Due to her stress levels, we feel that it is in Violet’s best interest to move into a stable home environment as quickly as possible. Date: 07/23/16 Former owner stated around strangers Violet is friendly with strangers. She is more relaxed than her sister. She is friendly around children and lived with her sister Blue all of her life. She plays exuberantly with her. She has not been around other dogs. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, assertive & talkative (at times) with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Violet looks tense, crouched position on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Violet hisses at first, then stiffens up in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Violet slowly sniffs the assessor’s hand then accepts the touch while she remains wary with her surroundings. Placement determination: Experience Violet tolerates attention and petting, but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
