SAFE 10/25/17 Viara is a 10 year old white and gray DSH with no known medical conditions . Owner has had Viara for 10 years and is surrendering because owner health reasons. Viara was described as friendly, beautiful, smart and quiet. Viara has lived with other cats and was friendly with them.

Energy level/descriptors: Friendly, beautiful, smart and quiet with a low activity level
Other notes: She enjoyed being brushed and wasnâ€™t bothered when being picked up and held.
Walked out of cage calmly, allowed all handling
Comes forward, body soft and ears forward. Head-butts kennel door, then rolls over onto side when spoken to. Maintains eye contact with soft eyes and allows all petting while leaning in and purring loudly. Very social â€“ doing great after first day!

Reaction to assessor:
Viara was lying down and relaxed at the back of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Viara starts to purr, then rolls over on her side and reaches out towards the assessor.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Viara is calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:
Viara purrs softly, nuzzles against the assessor’s hand and allows petting all over her body. She rolls around, gives head butts and appreciates attention.
Reaction to being picked up:
Viara was tense when picked up, then got antsy and leaped back into the kennel.
H – Healthy
Viara interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Spayed, spay scar palpable
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Geriatric, mild dental disease, overweight
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC. Consider dental prophylaxis in future with placement

Behavior Notesin car rides Viara is quiet. Viara has never been given a bath or had her nails trimmed by the previous owner. Viara enjoyed being brushed and wasnt bothered when being picked up and held. Viara also isnt bothered when being placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping.

Has this cat ever had any medical issues?NoFor a New Family to KnowViara was described as friendly, beautiful, smart and quiet. When home with Viara she liked to be off in a favorite spot of hers. Viara did not play with toys. Viara eats a mix of both wet and dry food of any brand 3 times a day. Viara ais litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Viara did not have a scratching post at home but did not scratch on anything in the home. When its time for bed Viara liked to sleep on the couch.
Behavior Notes:During intake Viara was calm. She allowed to be scanned and collared with a loose body. Viara allowed all handling and enjoyed being pet.
