KNOWN HISTORY: Venus was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: qar, tries to sneak away ENRICHMENT NOTES: 06/29/17 Crouched over, alert. Approaches the front when spoken to and sniffs my hand when extended. Keeps a low body posture, but eats treats and head-butted when pet. Leans in and tail starts to quiver. Very sweet cat and curious of environment. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Venus comes forward with a relaxed body to greet the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Venus sniffs the assessor, his tail quivers and he rubs his body up against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Venus’s tail sways; he becomes focused and walks out the cage. Reaction to touch: Venus looks around, lip licks and is very curious of his surroundings. He’s easily distracted when touched, leans in for attention and allows petting all over his body. Reaction to being picked up: Venus was a bit tense but remained calm and allowed all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Curious, Affectionate, Easy going BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Venus interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
