10/18/16 09:03 Basic Information: Venus is a 2 year old female. She was given to her previous owner by the person who owned her prior 2 months ago. She was surrendered because is rough at play. She has no known injuries or health problems but has not been to the vet. Socialization: Around strangers Venus is shy for a few minutes. When she plays with adults she is gentle. She live with an 11 year old child. With him she was respectful and rough at play. Behavior: Venus has not bitten and drawn blood but she play bites. She isn’t bothered if she is picked up or held or disturbed while sleeping. She is afraid when placed in a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Venus is described as friendly, playful, independent and quiet with a medium activity level. The thing her previous owner liked most about her was she’s independent. When her previous owner was home she would follow her around. She likes to play with balls. She was kept indoors only and at night she slept on the floor. She is litter box trained and used a hooded litter box and clumping litter. Behavior during intake: Venus had a low crouched body and attempted to hide and flee. She avoided eye contact but allowed me to pet her, collar her and pick her up. she showed no signs of aggression.

Former owner stated around strangers Venus is shy for a few minutes. When he plays with adults he is gentle. She live with an 11 year old child. With him he was respectful and rough at play. Also, described as friendly, playful, independent and quiet with a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Venus looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Venus remains in place, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: Venus slowly stands with tail slightly down then engages to lean into the assessor’s hand and appreciates the petting. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Venus interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
