09/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Venus was brought in with limited information on her behavioral tendencies in her previous home environment. Her previous owner reports she got along with the other two cats she lived with, but was never around any children or dogs. She was a bit fearful upon intake and was hesitant to come out of her carrier. She was easy to handle during her initial medical exam, however. Reaction to assessor: Venus comes to the front and begins to purr. Reaction when softly spoken to: Venus squeezes her nose against the cage door and reaches out gently with her paw. Reaction to cage door opening: Venus remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Venus arches her back, leans in for petting, and continues to purr. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to pick up: Venus remains soft and continues to purr when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Venus interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
