VENDER – A1093410
Gone - 10-20-2016 Brooklyn
***GONE 10/20/16 *** VENDER NEEDS A RESCUE!! Five years old and living on the street….VENDER is terrified at the ACC. He also has a leg wound which is obvious but not serious. This frightened guy has probably not had a lot (or maybe any) human contact.
He is striking out not because he is aggressive but trying to protect himself. The ACC considers cats like this easily disposable. WE DON’T!! But rescues need people to step up and foster scared cats like VENDER so they have a chance!!
IF YOU CAN HELP VENDER, CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE! If you need help finding a New Hope rescue email us at [email protected] and save VENDER’S LIFE!!

10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Vender was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Vender was at the back of the kennel hiding behind his litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Vender doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed and remains motionless. Reaction to cage door opening: Vender lifts his head up and hisses with his ears bent flat. Reaction to touch: Vender low growls then lip licks when the assessor extends his hand out. He strikes quickly, doesn’t allow touch then shifts away into his litter box and lowers his head avoiding contact. Please note that this cat is being treated for a wound at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Vender is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to strike and is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
