VELVET needs a FOSTER! He’s not going to be an easy cat at first but many cats like VELVET have become happy house cats after they’ve been given time and love!! STEP UP TONIGHT!! Reaction to assessor: Velvet looks tense, hiding in the cat den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Velvet remains crouched position in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Velvet attempts to avoid contact and began to hiss when touched on the head or body. Placement determination: NH ONLY Velvet is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.

7/19/16 Pt quiet in cage, food untouched this morning. Alert. Not examined due to aggression described by Field. Moved out of medical. 1088 ——- 7/18/16 Hx: Field ops described this cat as extremely aggressive – attacking the net even before capture in it, moving strangely, possibly shaking or not using hind legs. S: Quiet in feral den, staring at examiner through Plexiglass door. Moved around feral den occasionally and appeared to be shaking or not using hind legs. Sedated for exam – 0.33 ml Dexdomitor injected IM through the feral den. Pt did not move when stuck with needle. O: Sedated for exam. BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Mild tartar. PLNs: Not enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Tense, no masses palpated M/S/I: Sedated. Many burrs in fur coat. Blood under most toenails. No wounds, fractures or other injuries noted. UG: Male intact, testicles soft and symmetrical. A: 1. Reported abnormal neurological status – R/O HBC, rabies, other viral illness 2. Burrs in fur coat – R/O from being chased through bushes during capture 3.
