10/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Uno was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Uno was hiding in his feral den at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Uno doesn’t make eye contact or come forward when coaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Uno lies motionless. Reaction to touch: Uno hisses at the assessor with his ears bent flat then looks around for an exit. He shifts away from contact, lip licks then quickly rushes forward and allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Uno is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
