10/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Un was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in a previous home. Please note that Un is being treated for a URI and conjunctivitis at the time of the evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical conditions may be affecting the behavior. Please note that his behavior may change once she has recovered. Reaction to assessor: Un was alert, lying on blanket at back of cage, with tense body posture, and avoided eye contact. Reaction when softly spoken to: Un remained motionless, alert, focuses on the room instead of the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Un tensed and shifted weight to rear, eyes focusing on opening. Reaction to touch: Un hissed at first attempt to touch but allowed subsequent passes over body and on top of head. She remained tense but quiet and did not move. Behavior Determination: Experience No Children Un is fearful and/or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
