Enrichment:
11/24/17
Low body posture; tense and wary of his surroundings. She shifts away with her tail lowered and presses her body up against the back wall of the cage. She trembles and starts breathing rapidly when I approached her. I used the bear claw to interact with her – tolerant of touch but was very tense, ears bend flat. Not interested in treats. Needs more time. Sprayed feliway.
11/25/17
Curled up with litter mate. Tense and very skittish. She flinched when I opened the cage door and retreated to the other side of the kennel. Ears bend slightly, low body posture, tail lowered. Tolerant of touch with the bear claw. Her eyes widen when touched and she presses her body up against the back of the kennel. She lip licks constantly, very uncomfortable. Sprayed feliway.

Crouched in front of kennel next to sibling. Tolerates petting along head and body while shifting away from my hand and tilting ears. Retreats to litterbox with continued petting and flattens ears further. Nervous, needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway.
11/27/17
Crouched in front of kennel, ears forward. She backs away as I open the kennel door and flattens her ears. Comes forward hesitantly for treats, then flinches each time I touch her. Retreats through portal again when my hand passes along her back. More timid of the two siblings. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway. Ate all treats given.

POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:
Kitten socialization
Potential challenges comments:
Twix is a young cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. She may be apprehensive of people, but the behavior team believes she has potential to warm up to people. Kittens less than 8 weeks of age can be socialized by almost anyone; however, kittens between 2-4 months may require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. Please speak to an adoption counselor to learn more about socialization techniques.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:
Experience
Behavior Asilomar
TM – Treatable-Manageable
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:
Twix tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
