Hello, my name is Twilight. My animal id is #10802. I am a male black kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 25-Oct-2017.
Twilight is at risk to being diagnosed with ringworm. Twilight will require in home care with oral medication and medicated baths. Special care should be taken as Twilight is contagious to other animals and people. There are no know behavior concerns for Twilight at this time.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 10-12 weeks based on dentition and weight Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned neg on intake History : Stray, came in with 1 other kitten Subjective: Alert kitten Observed Behavior – Pulls away from exam but allows all handling Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist. BCS 4/9. EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, multiple large crusty alopecic lesions on right ear. No nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Deciduous teeth all present PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male kitten MSI: Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted. Flea dirt. Small crusty lesions on feet. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally. Wood’s lamp – faint green fluorescence in areas of noted lesions Assessment: Ringworm likely Prognosis: Fair with treatment Plan: 1. Started DTM culture – monitor for 21 days 2. Repeat DTM cultures every 7-14 days; stop lime dips after two negative DTMs 3. Lime dip twice weekly 4. Itrafungol 0.5 ml PO SID x21 days SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to ringworm 1088

Basic Information:: Twilight is a black and white male kitten that was surrendered stray with his sister Molly. Finder could not keep them because she wanted them to get medical care. Twilight has no visible sign of illness or injuries.
KNOWN HISTORY:: Twilight was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on his behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. Twilight had a soft body and allowed all handling.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior – Pulls away from exam but allows all handling.
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: Asleep on approach, woke when door opened. Lay in place, soft eyes and body, still sleepy. Leaned into pets, purred, dozed off again.
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Twilight was playing with his sibling, calm and relaxed.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Twilight pauses and sits upright, making eye contact with the assessor and blinking softly.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Twilight becomes alert and retreats to the back of his kennel.
Reaction to touch:: Twilight was hesitant of touch and attempts to shift away, but with a slow approach he allows petting and warms up quickly. He lifts his rear and begins to purr loudly.
Reaction to being picked up:: Twilight remains soft and allows all handling, continuing to purr.
