**GONE 08/31/16** “Owner Hospitalized” is the motivating factor behind TARYN-TAMMY-TURKEY-TUNA losing their home. It’s sad to think that these nice cats, who also lived with a pitbull, were completely dependent upon ONE person for their very existence; it’s a shame that friends or family couldn’t have kept these sweet kitties out of harms’ way while the person they love, recovered. It’s a cruel cruel world and anyone who needs more proof of that, need only reflect that these ADOPTABLE, AVERAGE and BEGINNER-rated cats, cats who would be perfect in a foster/adoptive home, are instead going to die brutal deaths tomorrow. Why? Because the ONE agency in NYC who has the contract to make sure they are safe, didn’t do their job. Please read the shelter notes carefully, since TARYN and TAMMY are adult cats and TURKEY and TUNA are young kittens…..and then work super diligently to make sure all 4 of these exceptional felines are saved by foster/adopters, tonight!

08/18/16 17:11 Turkey has lived with four other cats in the home. Turkey used an open litterbox and was fed dry food twice a day. Upon intake Turkey was relaxed and allowed all handling. Cousnelor was able to collar, scan and photograph.

Tuna was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Tuna is curious at the front of the kennel crying out for attention. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tuna leans forward and lightly head butts the kennel door. Reaction to cage door opening: Tuna is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Tuna purrs softly and rubs up against the assessor for attention. She allows petting all over and gives light head butts. Reaction to being picked up: Tuna is calm, relaxed and has a soft body when held. Behavior Determination: Beginner Tuna interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
