*** SAFE 04/27/16*** TERRIFIC TUCKER GETS ALONG WITH CATS, KIDS AND DOGS!! …A volunteer writes: Tucker’s previous owner said he is friendly and outgoing with new people, has lived with older children and been around younger children, did fine with all. He also lived with 2 female cats, whom he was relaxed and affectionate with, as well as a small dog. Tucker is very stressed out in the shelter environment, he was sitting in the back of the kennel but did allow me to pet him after I talked to him a little bit. Tucker would do fine in a place where the adopters have had some experience with cats, just to help him adjust and be able to get back to being the friendly boy he truly is. Which I think would happen very quickly…..At 11 years old he is probably frightened and confused by what has happened to him and rightly so!! PLEASE HELP TUCKER TO FIND A TRULY HAPPY HOME!! He’s already NEUTERED and while he has some aural hematomas, they are something that is treatable as many cats have them!! HELP TUCKER “TUCK IN” BY OFFERING TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!! If you need assistance, email [email protected]

04/11/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/11/16 17:31 BASIC INFO Tucker is an 11 year old DSH cat. His owner adopted him from ACC 10 years ago and surrendered him because she is moving to a new home and doesn’t want his fur to get on her couches. Tucker has had hematomas in his ears for 1.5 years. They have been static for the past year and have never been drained. He sometimes scratches them. SOCIALIZATION Tucker is friendly/outgoing with new people. He lived with 2 children ages 13 and older and has spent time with smaller children. He’s relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He lived with 2 female cats. He was relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He would cuddle with them and watch them play. He lived with a small dog and was relaxed and respectful of her. BEHAVIOR Tucker is relaxed in the car. He doesn’t mind when someone trims his nails, picks up/holds him, puts him in a carrier, or wakes him up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Tucker’s family describes him as friendly, mellow, independent, quiet, and low energy. He sometimes follows his family around. He lived inside and was mostly kept in a separate bedroom with the other pets. He slept on their bed with them. He ate dry and wet cat foods and got tuna as a treat. He’s littertrained, used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. He scratched vertical carpeted and cardboard scratching posts. INTAKE Tucker was tense and crouched, looking around, and was tolerant while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, positioned him for pictures, picked him up, and put him in a carrier. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.
