TREASURE – A1084042
Gone - 8-6-2016 Brooklyn
**GONE 08/06/16** ACK!! ANOTHER ABANDONED SUPER SENIOR!! TREASURE is indeed the same as her name……She is 16 years young, has lived with children of all ages and likes to play with water!!
TREASURE was certainly not “treasured” by her owners. Ironically, they surrendered her for Pet Health while saying they never took her to a vet….TREASURE has a small mammary tumor which could be malignant OR could be benign…..of course, one has to go to a vet to find that out and apparently that was too much effort for her former owners……PLEASE DON’T BYPASS THIS BURIED “TREASURE” IN A LARGE LIST TONIGHT!! This is a sweet cat who deserves better than being dumped at 16 years young!! Find room in your home & your heart to give this Calico Cutie a retirement home! If you need assistance, email us at [email protected]

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Treasure is shy around strangers for a few minutes then opens up. She lived with kids of all ages and was relaxed and tolerant of them. Treasure has never been around other cats or dogs. Her owners describe her as shy but playful with a medium activity level. She enjoys playing with string and mouse toys and likes using her scratching post made of cardboard. Reaction to assessor: Treasure is curled up near the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Treasure leans forward towards the assessor and meows softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Treasure remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Treasure stress meows and is hesitant of contact. She leans forward to sniff the assessors hand and allows petting with a slow approach. After a few soft passes she becomes more relaxed, rises up and comes to the front of the kennel. Please note that Treasure has a severe medical condition so we may not be seeing any true behavior and behavior may change when the cat’s medical condition improves. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Treasure tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
