***SAFE 08/27/16 *** A SECOND CHANCE TONIGHT FOR TABBY KITTEN TRACK!! TRACK is an adorable 5 month old female gray tabby kitten who was found wandering the streets in Staten Island and was brought in a trap to the shelter where this poor sweetie is on the kill list for tomorrow. TRACK is a feisty girl and not too happy to be at the shelter. She probably hasn’t had much exposure to people so she’d do great in a home where they can come to her on her own terms, and help her learn to trust humans. Since she’s so scared, she’s only available through New Hope Rescue. Please contact [email protected] to save TERRIFIC TRACK!!!

08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Track came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Track was fractious and attempting to flee. Reaction to assessor: Track is hiding in her den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Track hisses. Reaction to cage door opening: Track becomes alert and retreats. Reaction to touch: Track moves away to avoid any touch and hissing at the assessor. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Track is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Track is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
