I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/05/2016 from NY 10305, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/05/2016 14:17′ Finder stated that he was able to pick Toni up with his hands and place the animal into a box and bring the animal to our facility. Behavior during intake: Toni was growling when I approached the animal during intake. Once I placed food down, I was able to scan for a mc, pet the animal, collar and take a picture. When I tried to get Toni to come out of the den, Toni started growling again and backing up into the den more.

Toni came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Toni was growling but allowed some handling. Reaction to assessor: Toni is hiding in the den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Toni begins to growl. Reaction to cage door opening: Toni is growling, hissing repeatedly. Reaction to touch: Toni spits and strikes at the front of the den, does not allow handling. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Toni does not approach the assessor, displays fractious behavior, and does not allow handling. Toni is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
