Tommy is a sweet neutered kitty that found himself at ACC after his owner became sick. He lived with 14 other cats so he certainly is well socialized around other cats. His previous owner said: Tommy is friendly, shy, and affectionate with a low activity level. His favorite pastime is to be petted and scratched behind the ears and under the chin and talked to in a sweet voice. Tommy sounds amazing! Save this boy before it’s too late!

07/21/16 15:35 Basic Information: Tommy is a 7 year old neutered Black DSH that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Tommy since he was a kitten. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, Tommy can be shy for a few minutes at first then he will loosen up and solicit attention. Around adults, Tommy is respectful and relaxed but he doesn’t play. Tommy has lived with 14 other cats and he is relaxed, respectful and very tolerant of all of them. He has never been around dogs so his behavior is unknown. He has never bitten a person or another animal before. Behavior: Previous owners stated that Tommy has an issue of going to the bathroom on the carpet. Owner does not know the reason behind this issue whether it is because of a medical condition or a behavioral issue. Owner did not bathe Tommy. Tommy was not bothered by having nails trimmed. Tommy enjoyed having his coat brushed and being picked up and held. Tommy isn’t bothered by being put into a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Tommy is described as friendly, shy, and affectionate with a low activity level. His favorite pastime is to be petted and scratched behind the ears and under the chin and talked to in a sweet voice. He was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. Tommy used an under covered litter box and Feline Pine all natural litter. He was fed dry and wet cat food. Tommy had a scratching post but hardly ever used it.

Tommy came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described him as shy and affectionate and notes that he socialized well with other cats in the home. Previous owner reports that Tommy would use the bathroom on carpet. Reaction to assessor: Tommy is hiding in his den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tommy looks at assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Tommy is pressed against the back of the den. Reaction to touch: Tommy appears nervous, but allows petting. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Tommy does not approach the assessor, appears fearful, and tolerates minimal handling. Tommy is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children. We also recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with prevention and management techniques for Tommy’s litter box issues.
