TOBY – A1087518
Gone - 9-1-2016 Manhattan
***GONE 09/01/16*** LOVED TO PLAY AND CUDDLE WITH HIS CAT BUDDIES – PERFECTLY HEALTHY TOBY WAS DUMPED BY HIS OWNER FOR “HOME SIZE”!! Apparently, TOBY lived with 5 other kitties but for some reason he and his housemate TYLER – A1087516 (not listed tonight) were singled out to be disposed of at the kill happy ACC. TOBY is an affectionate and playful cat and loves toys especially the kind that squeak or make noise. Now that he is all alone in a scary shelter he is tense and nervous although he has allowed all handling and petting. Everyone knows that cats are sensitive to their surroundings and poor TOBY here is only tense because he is in a strange place with people poking at him and all the dogs barking in the background and strange smells, etc. WHY DOES THE ACC EXPECT THESE CATS TO ACT OTHERWISE?? THEY PUNISHED TOBY WITH AN EXPNOCHILD RATING. THEY DON’T CARE THAT HE HAS BEEN A LOVE BUG IN THE HOME, THEY ARE PLANNING TO KILL HIM AT NOON ANYWAY. TOBY IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY AND DESERVES A CHANCE TO HAVE A FUREVER HOME. AND DON’T FORGET HIS CUDDLING PAL TYLER WHO IS NOT LISTED TONIGHT. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL THEM TO SAFETY!!!

08/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Former owner stated he is a little shy around strangers at first. He has never lived with children or been around children. He has lived with 5 other cats. He likes to play with them gently, and to cuddle. He spends most of his time socializing with the other cats. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, and playful. Reaction to assessor: Toby looks tense, crouched position facing sideways at the back of the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Toby remains hiding behind his bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Toby accepts the stroke, but stiffens up in place and shows no interest to the touch. Placement determination: Experience / no child Toby tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
